After a career in the Design Industry and as a Lecturer /Teacher in Fashion Design, Illustration & Textiles I felt the need for new directions.

In 2003 I made the decision to study Fine Art and Printmaking and in 2006 gained a BA in Fine Art. In 2006 I was Shortlisted for the John Moores 24 Contemporary Painting Prize and was selected as one of four artists to take part in: 2007 Fresh Interventions a Site Specific Exhibition for Emerging Artists Sponsored by the Arts Council for Oxburgh Hall National TrustSite.

Specific, Installation and Conceptual Art has given me the opportunity to work on commissions such as in 2009 Trading As?. Hanseatic League: Hanse Art, King's Lynn Arts Centre. Art in the Garden 2008, 09, 10 is an exhibition in Norfolk which gives me the opportunity to produce work which is highly imaginative and enigmatic.

In my painting and printmaking I aim to express the mood and atmosphere of the subject.

The colour palette, medium and textures, play a large part in my desire to recreate the intrinsic beauty and sometimes the disturbing elements of nature.

I aim for my work to embrace more than an aesthetic pleasure or a sentimental reference to the subject. My intention is to enhance my work with an additional perception which gives a fleeting moment an independent presence within my work.
